Memory, faces and spaces: a creative documentary filmmaking experience
Memory, Faces and Spaces: A Creative Documentary Filmmaking Experience
This unique workshop will give students the chance to do a full immersion in experimental documentary filmmaking.
Preproduction, production, and postproduction stages will be given in a crash course. Students either in groups or individuals are expected to choose a subject or a place that they can experimentally portray in a short video. Voiceovers can be used as well as interviews and ambient sounds. The project is about the relationship between memory and faces or spaces. Students will develop their creative storytelling skills through an experimental perspective.
This is a hands-on production course that will allow students to work with experimental documentary storytelling. At the end of the course, students will complete a short experimental documentary film that they will have fully produced. The short videos will be screened publicly at the end of the course in a student show. The projects can be added to the students' portfolios. Selected projects can be included in international film festivals.
