The module will explore displacement scenarios and how the different scenarios are developing over time. Afterwards, we will explore the different challenges refugees and (forced) migrants encounter in host countries and work on interventions to address them. Different participants from different backgrounds should come up with diverse set of interventions: social, physical (infrastructure), economic, political and institutional as well as environmental. The course will answer the students on the following questions: What can the different cases teach us and what are our roles as architects, planners, engineers, artists and scientists? What can we do to make use of (forced) migrants for the progress of cities social transformation? 3 ECTS for the Seminar: The students will be asked to deliver presentation and one report (for the whole class) by the end of the course.
Further 3 ECTS will be give to students for attending the conference with 5 guest lecturers and the guest lecture by Prof. Dr. Güven Arif Sargin. The course welcomes all the students of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. |

The course is conducted as a students’ ”Bauhaus.Module” and open to all Bachelor, Master and PhD students of the faculties of Architecture and Urbanism, Civil Engineering, Art and Design, and Media. Before registering, please consult your academic advisor and clarify whether this course can be credited to your curriculum. If required, you can conclude a learning agreement (DE/EN) before the start of the course. |
