Beschreibung

The course aims to develop a spatial idea in groups where surface-awareness plays a crucial role in space. We attempt to explore the surface content through multiple aspects in a spatial composition context.

The workshop offers a general overview of and an introduction to the broad range of creative training as well as possible fields in which students may engage in the future. Students will be provided with a grounding in the interdisciplinary nature of the work of architects and designers with regard to space in current as well as future professional practice. Training in the flexibility of approaches and in spatial awareness will also be offered.

engl. Beschreibung/ Kurzkommentar

In the surface beyond body – Surface, body and architecture (AT)-program, we explore the functions and the design of spaces in an authentic Bauhaus building. The essence of architectural space is described in three stages:

Vertical surfaces, Horizontal surfaces and Irregular surfaces.

Physical experiments with the body and exercises with all the senses will help participants in perceiving the connection between context and design. If all of our senses are activated and trained, we can benefit from a wealth of experiences. Students will work in groups. It is recommended that in each group students from different specializations should work together.

Voraussetzungen

Analog and digital tools for model making (cutter, cardboard, cutting mats and caad tools, photoshop)
