Getting great design ideas is one thing, implementing them efficiently and predictably is something else. In this course we will look into the various ways we can see our ideas produced as intended. We will learn standard methods – plus a few hidden tricks – in InDesign, when to use which programme for what purpose, and how to prepare documents for efficient downstream production. A few themes covered will be: mathematics and geometry in design, typographic hierarchy, colour management, pre-press, etc. There will be several design exercises, with the primary concentration on print.
