- Do you teach in internationally oriented study programmes?
- You want to go abroad to study?
- You are international doctoral candidates and would like to teach in Germany?
This course teaches you how!
The course is specially designed for German and international doctoral candidates with no or little experience in university teaching. It provides basic knowledge and methods of academic teaching, of how to design lectures, plan and prepare courses and seminars with a special focus on challenges of international, cross-cultural teaching. Beside the theoretical aspects of the topic, participants will be involved in numerous practical exercises and team session and will get in-depth feedback on their development during the seminar. It will enable them to improve the quality of their teaching and lecture in an attractive stylistical and visual manner.
Some of the questions the seminar intends to answer are:
- How do cultural differences affect teaching and learning processes?
- What are suitable didactics for lectures in English at German Universities?
- What are the essential differences between German and international teaching styles?
