You think that Design is a process of adding? Think again. Removing is as equally important and sometimes even harder to achieve. Especially when it comes to designing interactions, it is crucial to know exactly what you want. To reduce the interaction principle to its essence, you need to get to its core and focus on one thing only. Less is more.
Goals: This project module will teach you how to leave things away, how to distill your idea until it shines and sparkles to the core. We’re looking at creative techniques, dos and don’ts, prototyping and sketching methods, presentation and communication skills as well as how technology, tools and conceptual frameworks go together.
Artistic Evaluation: You’re free to work on any project with one limitation – it has to do with interaction. This includes human-machine, machine-machine and human-human interactions.
Course techniques: Colloquiums, Presentations, Feedback, Workshops, Consultations, Excursions.
Time, Day, Place: Thursdays, starting April 18th 2019, Marienstraße 1b, R 201
• 11:00 to 12:30: weekly obligatory meetings
• 12:30 to 13:30: lunch break
• 13:30 to 15:00: weekly obligatory workshops & sessions | OR:
• 13:30 to 20:30: irregular excursions |
