engl. Beschreibung/ Kurzkommentar |
The intention is to create various routes through examples and discussions, in order to awaken one’s interest paid to the built environment, and come up with possible inspiring entities.
Most of us are living in the cities, and we almost never leave—houses, schools, offices, shops, cinemas, cafes are all located within the boundaries of them. Cities; buildings, streets and green areas bear the traces of the culture, the habits, the history, the character, and the style composed by its residents and also visitors. But do we really pay attention to our surroundings? Are the streets that we pass by every day only functioned as the bridges taking us from A to B? Another question arising from the same topic is: Can the city we are in help us create? Through the workshop Seeking Unseen, the details on the public spaces will be discovered—within the fields combining art, design, and architecture.
The workshop will include one (daily) Berlin and one (daily) Weimar field trip aiming to trace details in both cities—with the intention of comparing different scales, finding similarities and distinctions, and changing perspectives.
