Water Interaction in Parc on the Ilm _ Experience and Learning Situations
Experience and learning situations will be developed for the area of Goetheparc in Weimar. Small architectures and interactive installations are situated alongside the river Ilm and form a sequence. Experience, information and knowledge about water and with water will be mediated with a media-based and polysensory concept. The user can experience with all senses and bodily interaction to grasp the knowledge. The experience and learning environments are for different age groups and communities. The challenge is to develop water interactions with media of space, light, sound or projection to design hybrid realities and situation in space. Students design a workable prototype.
„MediaArchitecture theory”:
The attendant course gives an overview about the MediaArchitectuture field with looking about theories and MediaArchitecture examples. First of all, architecture is itself a medium, just as language, text and symbols are. It not only conveys, processes and saves reality and its meaning, but also produces it. In this sense architecture is always a perceptual mechanism, physical technique or semiotic tool, etc. Some of the best examples include the window as view, image and mirror, glass buildings as a panorama or simply space as a choreography of use. Digital media makes the expansion of real space possible and enables interaction with virtual space. Students will read media theories and architecture theories focused on the introductory project and applied to examples of architectures and installations in different contexts.
