Open Studio invites students to explore and develop their own diverse architectural and artistic ideas and processes. In regular gatherings, we come together to discuss different approaches, methods, and works with other students, faculty, and guests.
The project aims to create the possibility of a collaborative learning environment where students are encouraged to engage in research, creative processes and reflections that are fundamentally open as to the result. Beyond disciplinary conventions, design is explored as a set of practices that may include various media, text, time-based work, installation, etc. The production and reception of work will be discussed in relation to ideas and cases from the present and history of architecture, as well as from other fields such as art, critical and political theory, sociology, etc. Emphasis is placed on creating an environment of mutual interest and care.
