Beschreibung |
The focus of this seminar is on the discussion of public space, its design, effect, readability and functionality as well as questions of methods and presentation of urban design. In the winter term 22/23, the Institute for European Urban Studies welcomes different international scholars from Sweden, Brazil and Turkey for this seminar. Through the semester, these guests will give inputs about the basic principles of urban design and invite the students to a design-oriented critical reflection on what is a “qualitative space”. They will approach different typologies of space (public space, urban to suburban areas, Favelas) and look into different forms and planning tools. The presentations will be illustrated by practical international examples and case studies. At the end of the course, the students will choose and analyze different public spaces. These exercises will be graded. |
