This online-workshop focuses on both presenting and networking. When we discover ways that put the positive impacts of doing both well in a different light, the chances are greater that we will enjoy them and pursue them.

- Taking questions, also difficult ones, in the follow-up discussion
- Creating better slide presentations
- Using storytelling strategies to make your talks more accessible to more people
- Finding positive methods to make networking more rewarding.
In this two-day workshop, we will focus on two facets that are important to every junior researcher's future: presenting and networking. And how the two come together. Unleashed by the ongoing pandemic, it is also useful to understand how we can make the most of online conferences. Nevertheless, it should be kept in mind that the strategies apply frequently to both in-person and online activities. Since we expect to conduct the workshop online, we will spend time on presenting online. For this, I would like that eight (8) participants come with short slide presentations of a length of 3-5 minutes about your current research. I will coordinate with the Bauhaus Research School and contact these eight. Those not preparing a short talk will also have an opportunity to present. We will spend time on creating better slides which are important for (almost) all presentations. In the second element of the workshop, we will discover strategies for better networking. This can (and should) be always done, therefore, we will tackle how participants can expand their networking both in-person and online. Good planning for events will make the process more rewarding. This will take place over two days with a mixture of activities to keep up engagement.

This workshop is primarily aimed towards doctoral candidates of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Participation in this workshop is subject to a participation fee. For doctoral candidates of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, this is a fee of 30,00 €. Please note the applicable conditions of participation according to the Terms of Usage for Qualification Courses at the Bauhaus Research School. We will inform you about the payment modalities by e-mail after you have registered for the course here in the portal.
Depending on capacity, other members and affiliates of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, as well as external interested parties, can also participate in the qualification courses.
