Call for student collaborators

  • The Chair in Computer graphics is collaborating with MediaArchitecture study programme to optimize the software development and deployment of “Bauhaus Orbits—scenographical apparatus for discourse analysis”. We are looking for enthusiastic collaborators to further develop an alternative search engine’s interface, one that will seamlessly and flawlessly run on a massive aluminium structure
  • major areas of work consist of:
  • 1. Elaborate and sophisticated interaction development in vvvv gamma, with visits to official vvvv headquarter in Berlin
  • 2. Elaborate and sophisticated interface wireframing (UI tool of your choice) and development (in vvvv gamma), with visits to official vvvv headquarter in Berlin
  • 3. Projection mapping, image calibration and show control: Hardware design and setup, media production in terms of mapping and calibration, and program’s runtime performance. Work in collaboration with Vioso GmbH, professional mapping Software.

Sincere and highly motivated developers who are keen on learning from an interdisciplinary team and mastering your skills will be most welcome. You will be expected to micro-manage your areas of work in response to feedback from peers and stand up meetings.

engl. Beschreibung/ Kurzkommentar

„Bauhaus Orbits” is a interdisciplinary free project and an academic experiment to realise in a 1:1 scale an exhibition installation. The content of the exhibition is an algorithmic discourse analysis of the historical Bauhaus books to present it with an interactive 360° beamer projection.

The project is funded by the Freundeskreis der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, the Ministry of Economy, Science and Digital Society and the Kreativfonds of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

For the project we nee interested students to construct the architectural part of the exhibition and to install the technical set up in April and Mai.
