engl. Beschreibung/ Kurzkommentar |
Project description (12 ECTS) The project responds to the expectations of visitors to get information about “Staatliches Bauhaus” in the anniversary year 2019. Mobile media installations will present information related to authentic Bauhaus-places and domains of the former Bauhaus protagonists in Weimar to make the history present. The places form a network of trails and can be experienced during a Bauhaus walk. The mobile interactive installations at this place will enable the communication of information through the media sound, light, projection, images, text or video to design hybrid realities and spatial situations in urban context. The project “Bauhaus oases _ trans-local network” deals with the idea of the historical Bauhaus and asked for current questions of present and future. The slogan “art and technology a new unity” finds an extension through application of new technologies. A new layer of historical perception will be developed with interactive mappings. The trans-local networking of places in Weimar, Berlin and Peking with presentation for the “Lange Nacht der Ideen” in Berlin on 1st of Juni 2019 will be organised. Process The project is structured in three parts with plenum review. In the first part students will analyse the history and story of the Bauhaus places and document them with drawings, photos and concept models. Parallel to the analysis students will learn in seminars how to apply different media tools and technologies. In the second part students will develop theoretical and design-oriented concepts for the mobile, interactive installation. Students will combine the concepts with different technical systems or devices multimedia-based and interactive and integrate them in the installation. Information about the Bauhaus history and present become perceptible related to the context. Finally workable prototypes will be designed up to scale 1:1. MediaArchitecture theory (6 ECTS) The attendant course gives an overview about the MediaArchitectuture field with looking about theories and MediaArchitecture examples. First of all, architecture is itself a medium, just as language, text and symbols are. Students will read media theories and architecture theories focused on the introductory project and applied to examples of active, responsive, reactive and interactive architectures and installations in different contexts. Students will learn about the professorships of the MediaArchitecture programme and will find literature for the project in the library or in the elearning platform moodle. |
