Open Project Module - Einzelansicht

With this project module students can initiate their own self-directed project, while still being provided conceptual and technical support. Students are encouraged to propose a practice-based artistic/design research project that is in line with their own interests and growing body of work. We support proposals that aim to arguably develop the students’ portfolio, skills and overall work in the field of:

Interactive Art / Light Art / Energy Harvesting / Physical, Tangible Computing / Spatial Interaction / Architectural Interfaces / 2D/3D Prototyping & Printed Electronics / Mobile, Location-based Applications / Artistic Research / Embodied Data / Media Archaeology     

If you would like to initiate a project in the framing of this Open Project Module, please send us an e-mail to lotta.stoever@uni-weimar.de including:

- a project proposal (max. 2 A4 pages) that explains your project idea, why you are interested to work on this and how it helps you to develop your portfolio and artistic/design practice further

- a schedule that gives a *realistic* overview of how you are structuring the development of your project

We will select the proposed projects based on if they meaningfully respond to the mentioned research fields, as well as based on their feasibility to be realized.

Conditions: Bachelor students need to be at least in their 3rd semester to participate. Also, the Open Project Module can not be selected if you already participate in another Project Module.             

The granted credits for a project module are 18 ECTS. In the case of this Open Project Module ("Freies Projektmodul") this translates to a work load of 180 hours, so ca. 12 hours per week. This is the amount of time you should allocate for this module. This open project module is only suitable for students who are able to properly and consistently self-organize their time, energy and efforts. While we are going to be available for individual consultations and - if you prefer - irregularly check in with you, you will have the freedom and responsibility to structure your own time, etc.

The evaluation and grading will be done on the basis of quality and effort of intermediary and final presentations, as well as the documentation that is required to be handed in until the end of the semester.
