Beschreibung

Leaving academia and looking for a job in the industry is an important and sometimes difficult step. This fundamental career training enables you to go through a short and successful job search process. It consists of 2 live webinars and a self-study element.

Content

  • Ideas for possible positions

  • Content and design of cover letters

  • Analysis of job ads and estimation of chances

  • Preparation and phases of interviews

  • Self-presentation practice in small groups

The Workshop starts with a live-online session in which you will deepen the awareness of competences you have gained at university and transfer them to job profiles in the industry which might be interesting for you. you will also learn how you can identify further job opportunities.

You will understand how to write your cover letter and how best to adapt it to specific job offers. Additionally, you will learn to decipher typical phrases in job advertisements and identifying ”must” and ”can” criteria.

After the first online webinar you will get access to a self-study module on preparating for job interviews. Here you learn more about the classical interview structure and receive advice on how to prepare for a professional self-introduction and special interview situations such as online or by telephone.

In the second live webinar you practice your self-presentation for interview situations and receive feedback in small groups. Timeslots for each group will be allocated at the beginning of the seminar.
