In the StadtLabyrinth, the fragmentation of spaces and the different ways they are connected to each other are obvious and serve as an object lesson: a visitor walks down the steps in a well illuminated space, but when he opens the door in the end of the passage, he finds himself in a dark space. This forces him to climb a bit until he sees the next door and finds himself standing on a balcony. What is waiting behind the next door and which one should be opened? The spaces are different—and so are the ways one can get there. An additional help for finding one’s way in this labyrinth structure is a system of colorful elements (steps, nonrecurrent patterns on doors, slopes, furniture), which also serve as an introduction for the game with a number of questions based on the disposition of these elements. The questions are provided by means of hypersonic speakers, which are installed above round areas outside of the labyrinth: Find a room with three doors! Find a green cube! Find a white ball!…The game begins…
