While representation has been associated (and neutralized) with visualization in architecture, art, and urbanism –including drawing, photography, model making[[File:Model making 1.jpg\|800px]], video, sound, installation, and embodied techniques– we also consider its political implications as our task. For us this task means exposing and dismantling hegemonic visual regimes; those Westernized ways of depicting the world that have simultaneously served to dominate it. We advocate other(ed) modes of perceiving and constructing realities in a global present that is undergoing drastic transformations of spatial, political, societal, and environmental arrangements and forms of subjectivity.
