LUFTIKUS - installations with fans

IDEA

Aus den Faktoren Wind und Licht, zwei bezeichnenden Elementen der Region in und um Arles,
sollen in Verbindung mit Klang Objektinstallationen entstehen.

The combination of wind and light, two characteristic elements of the region in and around Arles,
shall be combined with sound. The interplay of all three parameters will form two mixed media
room installations.

(1) „mit Papier und Lüfter“/ "with paper and fans"

Ein oder mehrere Papierobjekte werden durch PC-Lüfter leicht in Bewegung versetzt und mit
Hilfe von Lichtquellen an die Wand projiziert. Der Klang der einzelnen Elemente wird im
Zusammenhang mit dem entstehenden Schattenbild eine akustische Raumatmosphäre schaffen.

Several pc-fans will move multiple paper objects hanging from the ceiling. Through a projection
of light on the objects the shadows will be animated on the wall. The sound of each single
element, in conjunction with the originated shadows, will create an acoustic atmosphere.

(2) "mit tanzenden Lüftern" / "with moving fans"

Die PC-Lüfter selbst werden hier zum akustischen und visuellen Objekt. Dabei werden Sound
und Bewegung der im Raum hängenden Lüfter durch eine sich ständig verändernde Spannung
gesteuert.Der präzise Einsatz von Lichtquellen lässt die Lüfter in Form von Schattenbildern
tanzen.

Here, the PC-fans themselves become acoustic and visuell objects. Therefore the sound and the
movement of the hanging fans will be controlled by a permanently changing voltage. The precise
insertion of light allowes the fans to dance in terms of shadow images.
