Description

Since March 2020, we’ve seen how the maker community has come together to work on a common goal: develop and produce solutions to one of the main issues caused by a pandemic: shortage in medical and protective supplies. Several ready-to-print designs for masks, respirators and the like have been released to the world through digital platforms. These supplies are being donated to hospitals, doctors, supermarkets and private companies which are still open to the public, covering essential needs.

Taking this situation as inspiration, students in this course are expected to develop ideas, designs, experiments, proof of concepts and/or prototypes which could help in different emergency situations. Gadgets, tools, disposables, devices, solutions.

Imagine you are to #stayhome for an indefinite period of time, due to a global catastrophe, but you still have:

- Basic tools and materials.
- A 3D printer or other rapid-prototyping technology.
- A computer with Internet access.
- Time.

What are you going to build?
