Every organism is living together in harmony. After experimented things in lab for a while, I want to create a surreal installation art for human to experience the different space, time and place. So called, I want the audience to be the part of the different organisms.

My first thought is quite related to my Projektmodul’s project, which is to create a Licht-Raum-Modulator, but using various mediums in the lab ( i.e. petri dish with slime mold growing in it) to generate a shadow projection of its form within the space.
Moreover, I want to create an ambient sound as atmosphere for the exhibition (for either the first or second idea) using Max/msp and Arduino by utilizing real-time approach; capturing the input from the electric potentials in organisms.

It works with only the laser pointer because there is a collection of atoms inside a laser, and they produce light as an intense coherent beam. Then, the laser beam passes though the droplet of water, the droplet acts as a spherical lens, refracts the light and creates a magnified image. When the light is magnified through the droplet, it casts shadows of anything that is floating inside a water.

Every organism lives together in harmony. After experimenting in the lab for some time, I realized I want to create a surreal installation art for human to experience the different space, time and place. An installation art that unites the audience with parts of the different organisms.

Moreover, I want to create an ambient sound as atmosphere for the exhibition (for either the first or second idea) using Max/msp and Arduino by utilizing real-time approach; capturing the input from the electric potentials in organisms.

My first thought is quite related to my Projektmodul’s project, which is to create a Licht-Raum-Modulator, but using various mediums in the lab ( e.g. petri dish with slime mold growing in it) to generate a shadow projection of its form within the space.

My other idea is to design textile pattern with the image taken from the microscope by mapping the image onto the surface of the plain cloth, with the intent to portray the concept of living together (with bacteria or others organic matters).

After the discussion in class, I decided to continue with the 1st idea. Below is the list of the references, both equipment and projects that I have to investigate.

Project
- Optical theater : Charles-Émile Reynaud https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Th%C3%A9%C3%A2tre_Optique
- Lanterna Magica https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_lantern
- Green Laser Microscope - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWYeA46cvL8

Equipment
- Acetate Projector
- Laser Microscope (DIY) : The Sci Guys: Science at Home: Laser Microscope https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7v1ghT-E-Ls
- SMALL SPACE REAR PROJECTION SETUP - Projector Mirror Mount with Screen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Cijm_W71_w

Organism
I decided to work with the microorganisms.

There are 5 basic groups of microorganisms:
1. Bacteria
2. Fungi: yeasts and molds
3. Viruses
4. Protozoa
5. Algae

However, I found that even though the image is impressive, but it is quite difficult for the audiences to be participated because the microorganisms have to be inside the droplet. So, I developed my idea with the same concept but with the different implementation.
