A gelelectrophoresis exercise is made in class.
is needed: - 120 vol - Agarose - Pigment (in the DNA) - Stain (to glow under the UV) it shows the quantity of base pairs. - DNA Fluoro Leiter (dna lader) We used one that reads till 1000 base points. - TAE salt solution (15 times diluted) - Distilled water - Electrodes
We prepare the medium according to the guide.
Then we put a guide for the samples.
We situated the electrodes one positive in one corner and one negative in the other corner.
A tube we the DNA sample is used for the test, the samples are put inside the holes made with the guide.
After a while the samples start to move in the saline medium because of the electrical flow created with the postive and negative poles.
Under the UV light can be seen the results of the experiment.
