I want to capture the moment when one overcomes the fear of entering unknown water / getting in touch with nature.

concept / implementation:
An interactive Instillation with two spaces - (''space#1'' and ''space #2'').

I) audio walk / installation
A walk through a big dark space guided by a whispering voice.
The space is lit by very little light which is surrounded by waterlentil “sculpures” or other containers in which the lentils can swim in.
Soundsystems are placed in different parts of the space bringing the recipients attraction from a lit place to another. On their journey through the installation big shadows will give a mysterious atmosphere.

At one point of the Audio-Walk stops and the participants see a bright light coming form a “space”
''space#1'' - the interaction

II) room of touch (taste) - a space of interaction - touching the duckweed (touch and interaction)
A space flooded with water - covered by water lentils. Participants are influenced by an "audio-guide" (A soundsystem placed in different parts of the space motivating the recipients to come inside and interact).
A space where people can observe (also through light projection), touch and feel the water lentils in light coming from underneath.  Projection on the ceiling of the lentils..
Water-lentils are floating on the water - covering the complete surface making the space look like a huge green floating carpet.
beeing able to be fed some participants may taste the lentil.
space#1 is mostly lit by Neon-Light or LED-Lights illuminating the water-lentils from underneath - the light is partly shining through the surface.

In my work I analyze water lentils.
Continuing my work from this summer, where stumbled upon wolffia arrizah.
This fascination back then, led to an Installation performance.
Since then my curiosity has only increased...

Back in Weimar I found out that the lentil, wolffia doesn't grow in the area, so I started to focus on Lemna.

During my research I found out that Water lentils are the super plant for tomorrow. They are edible (Lemmna is even on the NFR Novel food Regulation) and can make the water more clean. They can even be a Energy source)

I recorded water:
For the audio in ''space#1'' I did some recordings of water:

I tried to give them a nice atmosphere through self organized jam sessions.
Taking a closer look through the Polilux.
For the installation:

- I am still doing more research for the audio guide
For the event I am:

- still edeting the audio walk concept
- still doing more research

- I am planning different Video sequences for the audio walk
- on the search for a space which i can flood with water

- I still need more lentils - which i am collecting from time to time for I) and II)
- collecting and growing more water-lentils

walk of the unknown touch

motivation:

to capture the moment when recipients overcome the fear - entering unknown water and getting in touch with Water-lentils (focusing on different species of Wolffia, Wolffiella and Lemmna). They have great sustainable benefits for nature and can grow invasively. They are edible (Lemmna is even on the Novel food Regulation) and can make the water more clean.

Implementation:

An interactive Instillation with two spaces - (space#1 and space #2).

space#1 - the interaction

A space flooded with water - covered by water lentils. Participants are influenced by an "audio-guide" (A soundsystem placed in different parts of the space motivating the recipients to come inside and interact). Water-lentils are floating on the water - covering the complete surface making the space look like a huge green floating carpet. space#1 is mostly lit by Neon-Light or LED-Lights illuminating the water-lentils from underneath - the light is partly shining through the surface. fear and curiosity.

"What is hiding underneath the surface?"

"How deep is the space?"

space#2 - lab and research-overview

exhibiting macro photography and microscopy c-prints of the growth of the water lentil. A movie of the origin / the collecting process, a publication of notes on the lentils + lentils in test tubes give the recipient insight on the growing process and the possibility to get familiar with this plant.

Process:

In my work I analyze water lentils. Continuing my work from this summer, where stumbled upon wolffia arrizah. This fascination back then, led to an Installation performance. Since then my curiosity has only increased...

For the audio in space#1 I did some recordings of water: https://m.soundcloud.com/user-518007642/wassermalspiel

For the event I am:

- still doing more research
