In this hands-on course, students will delve into the fundamentals of photogrammetry workflows as a foundational step in transitioning from the physical realm to digital 2D and 3D environments. This course emphasizes practical skills in working with photogrammetric equipment, primarily digital cameras, and mastering specific processes to extract precise geometry and positional data. The acquired knowledge will empower participants to recreate real-world objects and scenarios within a virtual three-dimensional space.<br />

An exciting addition to the course content is the exploration of the topic “Sustainable Futures”. Participants will engage with terrestrial and aerial datasets, employing innovative strategies to create immersive experiences that intersect with digital heritage archives. By addressing the intersection of technology and sustainability, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of how their work can contribute to more environmentally conscious practices in the field.<br />
<br />
To complete the loop, the course will also cover output possibilities by incorporating hands-on experimentation with rapid prototyping technologies. This includes applications in physical, augmented, and virtual environments, providing students with a well-rounded skill set and an awareness of the diverse applications of their work.<br />
<br />
Students are encouraged to leverage this course to support ongoing projects related to spatial and object virtual representation. The culmination of the course will involve the delivery of final works in various forms, such as functional prototypes, installations, interactive artworks, animations, etc. Accompanying these outputs, participants will submit written conceptual and technical documentation.<br />

Basic knowledge in digital photography and foundational skills in 3D modeling are recommended.<br />

Students enrolled in another IFD course offering will be given priority. However the course is open for applicants from Media Art & Design, Media Architecture and Freie Kunst, with instructor permission.<br />
