But a dump like this is only a part of the actual potash factory. The mining, processing and manufacture of potash was one of the most important industries in Thuringia, as well as in the entirety East Germany. Nowadays there are only two factories still that still produce potash in the east of Germany. In Thuringia there are none. But why is that? The mining, processing and manufacture of potash was one of the most important industries in Thuringia in the 19th and 20 century, as well as in the entirety of East Germany in general. Nowadays there are only two factories still that still produce potash in the east of Germany. In Thuringia there are none. But why is that?
