'''A soft armour'''

One of the first days I wore my three piece suit, I saw a flash of blue. I caught it on the inside of my suit. In white thread. I never saw a kingfisher before.

There is an oil stain on my right sleeve. A late dinner with friends. It has been there for 83 days now.

A woman laughed when she scanned the QR code on my back and saw the drawing of the beheaded man. I don’t know why she laughed. He’s always bothering me, scratching my leg.

Something Thoreau said about suits: “beware of all enterprises that require new clothes, and not rather a new wearer of clothes “.

Inside out of sight. Insight outside.

An old man I met on the street told me how they all stored their best suit in the bomb shelter.

Wa(n)(i)ting to uncount days.

Is a landscape a collection of threads? Is a suit a field you can walk through?

I’ll only fight windmills when they spoil the view.

''
(I wore a three piece walking suit for 103 days. Every day I embroidered a drawing or text on the inside of the suit. Slowly the outer world crept inside while the inside world moved outside. A QR code was embroidered on the back of the suit and linked to a website with the images. The suit turned into a mindmap of what happens when you walk through everyday life in a soft armour.)''
''Erster Termin:'' 16.10.2012

==Beschreibung==

==Description==
The Archigram group, the Italian Radicals Superstudio and Archizoom rendered ‘visionary and utopian architecture in the closing juncture of the modernist era, coinciding with the cultural upheavals and social transformations of the 1960s and 1970s’. Until today they are referenced as an example for an architectural critique. Based on real places and existing architecture we will design fictitious, provocative and critical alternatives for build environments. The outcome will be collages, maps, models, interventions or performances.

One in two in many (working title)

They are not identical. Although they look exactly the same. They are pure graphite. Graphite twins. 123 mm long. 11.5 mm thick. Degree of hardness 2B.

But if I would look at them carefully, if I would study them in detail, I would be able to describe hundreds of differences. Thousands even. Tiny scratches, minute differences in shade and in the way they catch the light, traces of people who held them before me when they were still in a box in a shop.

The similarity is in their material and in their shape only. It is the quickness of my gaze that makes them one and the same thing. It is my human nature that makes me want to see the similarities first, that want to see them as one when they are two.

Two with one purpose though. They are used for drawing. And in their use they disappear. They transform into lines on paper. They become drawings.

I wonder. Can they become themselves again in drawing? Or more precise: can they become the other?

What will happen when I will use the one to draw the other? The other to draw the one? The one to draw the other? The other to draw the one? The one to draw the other? The other to draw the one? Until all the graphite has gone?
