Snow melts by fire. Fire goes out the moment it meets the snow. This work poetically represents ''life'' consisting of infinite cycles of yin and yang through a process in which two substances with opposite properties affect each other.
Slime is both the subject of drawing and the drawing itself.
Grow slime on paper.

====Slime on Transparent paper====

21. Nov. 2021 _ Transparent paper, slime, oat, purified water 2% agar. Store in plastic bag.

23. Nov. 2021 (+ 2days)

As the agar syrup medium dried, the slime also dried and turned white. (but the traces of the slime that turned white are also beautiful. )

====comment====

1. As the agar syrup medium dried, the slime also dried and turned white. Where is a best place to store the paper for the slime to grow healthy?

2. Under the right environment, slime will grow constantly.
How do I stop the growth of slime when the desired pattern is reached (when I want to stop drawing)?
to dry?

3.
The paper is too thin and loses its shape from agarwater. Change to thick paper. But continue to work on transparent paper. Because it is more metaphoric and poetic.

===Slime on painted paper===
23.Nov.2021_ paper, slime, oat, purified water 2% agar.

Store in plastic bag (black and blue), just in the shade without a plastic bag (yellow)
In the case of the yellow drawing left in the shade without sealing, the medium dried quickly and the slime did not grow much.

Workshop on biofilms with Katja Bühler
November 19th 9.30, M7b, Room 204 and
November 28th

The workshop is about understanding the role of the smallest living things we know in our global ecosystem. Why are bacteria important? What can they do and what is their importance for us? We want to work this out together, with lectures and practical experiments.

For the practical experiments participants will set photosynthetic microorganisms on Petri dishes and also will prepare a vinegar mother. The participants will be able to take the vinegar home after the workshop and let it mature there.

During the workshop we will also serve the fermented foods.

Katja Bühler is a professor at the TU Dresden. She conducted research (Dr. rer. nat.) at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg, Institute of Biotechnology II under Prof. Rudolf Müller. Bühler's research focuses on the development of alternative biotechnological reactor concepts based on in vitro and in vivo approaches.
