Das Büro für Unabwägbarkeiten war zu Plan08 in Köln mit der urban research performance&lt;br /&gt;
sichtbar. &amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Eine vierköpfige Forschergruppe lebt und arbeitet für den Zeitraum des&lt;br /&gt;
Festivals auf &amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;einer innerstädtischen Brachfläche. Verschiedene, nach Funktion &lt;br /&gt;
geordnete &amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;Zelte bilden eine temporäre Forschungsstation in der Stadt, die der&lt;br /&gt;
Öffentlichkeit zugänglich ist.&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Die Brache wird in 30 x 30cm Quadranten abfotografiert, so dass die Mikrostrukuren der&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
urbanen Oberfläche z.B. einzelne Pflanzen, Insekten, Gegenstände etc. deutlich erkennbar&lt;br /&gt;
sind.&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Diese Ausschnitte werden anschließend wie Satellitenaufnahmen zu einer Gesamtansicht /&lt;br /&gt;
-karte&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt; zusammengefügt. Die gescannte Brache wird bei Onlinegloben wie Open Street Map&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
und Google Earth eingebunden. Im Netz wird somit eine Wildnis, ein Urwald und&lt;br /&gt;
Erkundungsraum sichtbar,&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt; der Teil der Stadt zugleich aber im Kontext „normaler“ Karten&lt;br /&gt;
unerforschtes, unwegsames Terrain ist.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

The urban research performance took place during Plan08 in Köln, September 2008.&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Four people were living and working during a period of one week on a fallow land inside&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
the city of Köln, in order to perform a scan of a defined part of the waste land.&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
The field was photographed in parts of 30 x 30 cm squares. Thus, micro structures like&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
plants, insects ect. become clearly visible.&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Afterwards those single images were combined like satellite images into an overall view,&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
that can be uploaded to online globes like OpenStreetMap or Google Earth, showing a&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
wilderness that is part of the city but stays in the context of maps an unknown terrain.&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

We tried to make photos with a camera connected to a kite. The little pink dot on the picture nearby thy glider is a balloon, showing where our base lays in the wilderness.&lt;br /&gt;

Our camp with the bureau in the front. The bureau was our main place for storing our collected data and our connection to the internet to fill our blog with news. In the background are a berth and a cooking-place with camping-chairs.&lt;br /&gt;
