How can I get in contact with other students, how do I borrow books from the library, where are the lecture halls, where’s the dining hall, how do I make a semester schedule?
We offer you, in the company of your tutors, the chance to become better acquainted with your new home and university in Weimar. Our orientation programme enables you to get off to a good and easy start at the university during your first days in Weimar. Together with your tutors, we’ll help you take care of the most important formalities and give you some ideas about what to do after a hard day at university, e.g. cultural events and sports programes.

Finding a room in Weimar
Attractive places of residence in the Studierendenwerk Thüringen housing complexes
Also in Weimar, the Studierendenwerk Thüringen offers well-equipped accommodation in its own student residences.
Particularly attractive are the rental prices of about 250 € per month on average, which include all operating costs including water, electricity and heating. The apartments are mostly furnished and have modern fitted kitchens.
In addition, the residential complexes are directly connected to the data networks of the universities. Thus, for example, online teaching content can be used in your own room around the clock. Housing tutors help newly arrived international students to find their way around the new environment, the facilities of the Studierendenwerk Thüringen as well as the city.
Suitable housing is also available for students with disabilities or chronic illnesses as well as for students with children. An overview of the housing facilities can be obtained online by all interested parties. The application for free housing is made directly through the Studierendenwerk Thüringen.
