Digitalisation is a hot topic right now - but what does it actually mean? Specific examples of digital innovations from various spheres of life will be presented this coming Saturday to the general public. Several projects will be representing the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar at this event:
»AISTEC – Bewertung alternder Infrastrukturbauwerke mit digitalen Technologien« (AISTEC – Assessing ageing infrastructure using digital technologies)
The Faculties of Civil Engineering and Media have been working together closely for a number of years in the area of digital engineering. One particular element that this relationship focusses on is digital building preservation. At the »CityFestival«, staff from the Computer Science and Media as well as Civil Engineering subject areas will be demonstrating how innovative digital processes can be used in the construction industry. The use of unmanned aircraft, image-generating measuring procedures, virtual reality and intelligent sensor technology for condition monitoring of buildings will be presented in interesting and instructive live demos.
»E-TERRY«
The Faculty of Art and Design will be presenting the »E-TERRY« robotic carrier platform for healthy, profitable and sustainable agriculture at their own stand. Visitors to the festival can watch live a scaled, functional model and acquire some initial impressions of the agricultural robot. »E-TERRY« has been developed in cooperation with GentleRobotics and is sponsored by maxon motor ag.
»Thüringen Digital – Festival für Zukunft und Innovation« (Thuringia Digital – Festival for Future and Innovation)
The »CityFestival« at Erfurter Domplatz is part of the »Thüringen Digital – Festival für Zukunft und Innovation« series of events, organised by the Thüringer Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Digitale Gesellschaft (Thuringia Ministry for Economic Affiars, Science and Digital Society) in the state capital of Erfurt from 23 to 26 May. Visitors can actively learn about the opportunities and the risks of digitalisation by attending conferences, presentations and workshops.
»Bauhaus Medientalk«
The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is also represented in other parts of the programme: In »Bauhaus Medientalk« (Bauhaus Media Talk), led by Jun.-Prof. Dr. Christopher Buschow from the Faculty of Media, media representatives are invited to the Krämerloft in Erfurt at 10am on 24 May 2019 to discuss journalism under the conditions of digitalisation and cross-linking and to explore possible innovative solutions together.
