Thuringia is currently experiencing an extremely high number of new coronavirus infections. The trend is also noticeable in infection-related absences in Weimar and at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The Presidium wishes to thank all those who are working hard to ensure that the university can continue to operate smoothly. They are also asking all university members to exercise caution with one another during this unprecedented situation.
»We need to be especially mindful and considerate of each other at this time. Even if the situation severely restricts us, we can help mitigate it by treating one another with respect. Treating colleagues and students who are affected by the current circumstances with understanding, consideration and sensitivity is part of our identity and should determine our behaviour«, says Prof. Dr. Emes, Interim President of the university.
The number of infections is expected to drop as temperatures increase in spring and with the upcoming Easter break (9 to 23 April), which should reduce contact in many areas. With this in mind, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is looking forward to a nearly normal in-person summer semester under the motto »Together Again«.
Current coronavirus infection prevention regulations for the 2022 summer semester can be found at www.uni-weimar.de/coronavirus.
