The 2021/2022 winter semester will have noticeable more in-person teaching than the last semesters. To make this as safe as possible, all students will have the opportunity to be vaccinated against COVID-19 at the beginning of the semester in Weimar easily.
On Friday, 8 October 2021, and Friday, 15 October 2021, from 2.30 pm to 8.30 pm at the vaccination center at the »mon ami« youth and culture centre (Goetheplatz 11, 99423 Weimar) the students can choose between the mRNA-vaccine by BioNTech/Pfizer (second vaccination needed after approximately 3 weeks) or the attenuated/live vaccine by Johnson & Johnson (one time vaccination).
For organisational reasons, please make an appointment in advance via the online portal:
https://www.impfen-thueringen.de/campusimpfen
The booking form is available in German and in English. Those who spontaneously decide to be vaccinated can also sign up at short notice or show up at the vaccination centre on 8 and 15 October - no one will be turned away. There are enough appointments available. Employees of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar can also take advantage of the offer.
Be sure to bring the following items with you:
Before the vaccination, there will be a consultation with the doctor administering the vaccination. This will also be available in English. Persons who have already been vaccinated with a vaccine that is not recognised in Germany, may also ask about being cross-vaccinated. The final decision as to whether a person can be vaccinated is made by the doctor after the consultation, taking into account the individual circumstances. The offer of vaccination therefore does not automatically imply an entitlement to vaccination.
The »Vaccinate Campus« campaign is organised by the state of Thuringia together with the Kassenärztliche Vereinigung Thüringen at every Thuringian university location and is intended to appeal in particular to first-year students who have not yet been vaccinated and international students at the start of the semester. Of course, all other students who have not yet been vaccinated are also encouraged to take advantage of the offer.
The corona vaccination is the most effective measure for preventing the spread of infection, preventing illness and leading to a lifting of restrictions on public life.
