Social Programme

Conferences always provide opportunities for reviving contacts and making new ones - not only during workshops and lectures, but also during the coffee breaks or the conference dinner.

In addition, we invite you to take part in guided tours to get to know Weimar and the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

Conference dinner

The conference dinner will take place on Friday, 2 March 2018 at 7.30 pm in the rooms of the Leonardo Hotel. A buffet dinner will allow you to sample Thuringian and international specialities.

Address: Leonardo Hotel, Belvederer Allee 25

Bauhaus Walk

A number of buildings housing the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Some of them are

  • the Haus Am Horn (very first building based on Bauhaus designs and constructed in 1923), and
  • the Brendel Studio (former Bauhaus workshop, now the university's Visitor and Information Centre).

All of these buildings can be visited as part of the Bauhaus Walk in the afternoon of 2 March 2018.

Classic Weimar

Some of the many famous sights of Weimar - Cultural Capital of Europe in 1999 - can be visited in the afternoon of 2 March 2018 or after the conference. We have made reservations for guided tours and some of the buildings maintained by Klassik-Stiftung Weimar which require long-term reservations.
