Spaces for families on campus
KiWi-Room
On Amalienstraße 13, in room 313, a parent-child workspace is available for students and employees of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. This room can be used to work and conduct meetings while children are around. The workspace is equipped with a desk, a meeting table and games and activities for children. Emergency rooms and relaxation rooms for women
Emergency and relaxation rooms for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers are located at Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 8 in rooms 101/102, as well as at Coudraystraße 13 A. Access to the rooms is arranged via Michaela Peisker in the Office of Student and Academic Affairs in the Campus.Office, Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 15 room 007 (michaela.peisker@uni-weimar.de; 03643/582349).
The KiWi room at Amalienstraße 13, room 313, can also be used as another area for relaxation and breastfeeding. Access to this room is arranged via the Equal Opportunity Office (gleichstellungsbuero@uni-weimar.de; 03643/584242).
Dining halls
The Mensa am Park is a family-friendly eating area with high chairs, changing facilities as well as a play corner and wheelchair accessible. On presentation of a child’s pass for the university dining halls, children up to and including the age of six receive a free portion of food when another meal is ordered (student, staff, or guest). Student parents can apply for a pass by showing their enrolment certificate or a student pass and the birth certificate of the child or another piece of identification to prove the relationship at INFOtake (foyer Mensa, Marienstraße 15b).
