About us

Promoting diversity, making equal opportunities a reality

The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar believes that infinite variety of encounters and interactions between people offer huge potential that should be identified, promoted and protected.

The Diversity department helps the university to showcase the variety of its members and to take this wide range into account in all respects and matters.

The Diversity Officer works to make equal opportunities a reality and to remove all obstacles and disadvantages faced by students, doctoral candidates, and employees. All members of the university, regardless of their age, gender, ideology, sexual orientation, religion, cultural and social background, disabilities, or chronic or mental illnesses, must be able to study, complete a doctorate, or work at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar without constraints and participate in studies and education, teaching and research, technology, administration and further training.

This especially includes actively tackling any form of discrimination or unfairness, and advising those who have experienced discrimination at the university.
