In 2008, the UN Disability Rights Convention came into force.
Germany was one of the first states to ratify the convention on February 24, 2009.
The UN-CRPD and the additional protocol have been binding for Germany since March 26, 2009.
The current Thuringian action plan for the implementation of the UN Disability Rights Convention (2019) specifies the guidelines for implementation of the convention in Thuringia.
Based on this action plan, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar developed a paln for the implementation of the UN Disability Rights Convention at the level of the university. The measures focus on:
- awareness
- barrier-free communication
- accessibility in digital teaching
- structural accessibility
