You can apply for IPID4all funding of a conference or exhibition participation more than once a year. However, those applications of doctoral candidates who were not funded during the current calendar year are preferred. Funding through different IPID4all funds (e.g. a trip to a conference in May, and a research stay in September) is also possible.
You may be funded by IPID4all, as long as your scholarship agreement does not provide for the funding of foreign stays (research/practical work stay, conference/exhibition stay) or for the funding of translation or proofreading services.
Yes, you may, as long as your scholarship agreement does not provide for the funding of foreign stays (research/ practical work stay, conference/exhibition stay) or for the funding of translation or proofreading services.
Yes, you may, as far as you are a doctoral candidate at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (on this see Issue No. 5). If you would like to propose a travel authorization request, please contact us by e-mail to ipid[at]uni-weimar.de.
IPID4all funds only those expenses which are not completely or partly funded by third parties. This is why we need evidence of which expenses are funded by third parties. A letter (or an e-mail) by a funding third party may be applicable as such an evidence.
“Research stays” refers to all stays for the purpose of your own active research work at a research institution (e. g. university, research institute). “Practical work stay” refers to all stays at a research institution or practical training partner (e. g. an enterprise) for the purpose of specifically developing your knowledge and skills further as a scientist or artist. These stays must be abroad and must be clearly connected to your doctorate (see Issue 9). Paid teaching activities are not funded.
IPID4all funding is meant to support you as a candidate. Your research or practical work stay must result in a comprehensible added value for your doctorate. This is the case e. g. if you do research work abroad, further develop your doctorate project or acquire knowledge and skills you need for completing your doctorate.
Unfortunately you cannot. Funding in the context of IPID4all happens on the basis of fixed rates for travel and accommodation costs as they are determined by the DAAD. This always refers to Germany as the starting point for a travel. Thus we cannot fund travels starting outside Germany.
We want to be sure that both you and we will have a local contact partner. However, such a letter does not mean any obligation towards the host institution in the sense of on-site support. “Host institution” does not necessarily refer to another university. It may also refer to other research institutions or practical work partners of any kind.
Yes, you may. However, you may not be funded parallel by the DAAD and by the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in the context of IPID4all. As soon as your application has been accepted or rejected by the DAAD, you must inform the Bauhaus Research School. Funding first by DAAD and then by IPID4all – or vice versa – is possible but must be agreed on in each case by the Bauhaus Research School and the DAAD.
Please send an informal information by e-mail to email@example.com. If your stay is shortened to less than 4 weeks, the funding will be reduced accordingly. In case of an extension of your stay there is no provision for increased funding. Postponement of your journey within one calendar year has no consequences. If, however, your journey is postponed to the following calendar year, your claim for funding expires. Exceptions are possible only in case of stays until January.
Funding is valid only for the trip you have applied for. If you are completely prevented from starting it, the funding approval expires (on changed travel data see Issue 19). Funding is in principle not applicable to others.
Payment will happen after your stay, after you have presented the original receipts for your travel and accommodation costs (invoice, tickets), your bank details (IBAN, BIC), as well as a short report (on this see Issue No. 25) to the Bauhaus Research School. In duly substantiated exceptional cases partial payment is possible after having started your trip. In such a case please contact the project coordinator in charge, Mrs. Franziska Matthes (firstname.lastname@example.org).
