We welcome the new Research Training Group Media Anthropology (GRAMA) with 12 doctoral candidates, two post-doctoral candidates and 11 associated (post-)doctoral candidates at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. GRAMA continues the work of the ProExcellence project Competence Center Media Anthropology (2015-2019). We wish all participants much success!

The first election of a doctoral council is expected to start this year, despite a corona-related shift. The current doctoral candidate representation at BRS cordially invites all doctoral candidates to a virtual meeting.

Prize for submitted and graded theses for theses with central reference and inclusion of research on age, mental and physical abilities, ethnicity, gender, educational background, religion/ideology or sexual orientation. In order to make this diversity of subjects visible at Thuringian universities, the Thuringian Competence Center for Equal Opportunities (TKG) is awarding the »Diversity Meets Science« prize for thesis with gender and diversity perspectives, which is endowed with 2.000,-€ for the third time.

Applications are invited from graduates in all disciplines at Thuringian universities, whose final thesis (bachelor, master, diploma, state examination or doctoral thesis) takes a gender/diversity perspective  and was submitted within the last two years (since 01 August 2018).

Composition: 2 scholarships are awarded annually; duration 6 months. Application period in the summer months of each year. Only written applications within the specified period are possible. The scholarship is funded by the Kunststiftung NRW and the application is made there. Please download application form here.

KWW Scholarships: Every year, about 6 scholarships are awarded for special projects at the interface of art, science and business; duration 2-6 months. Application period in the spring months of each year. Only online applications with concrete project plans are possible during the application period at The KWW scholarships are funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of NRW.

All scholarships have a monthly amount of 1025 Euro, deducting approx. 100 - 200 Euro rental costs, electricity and telephone costs.
