The approved election nominations for the Doctoral Council »ProDoc« are published now  - the online election will start on 3rd of March 2021.

Every doctoral candidate is eligible to vote, who has been accepted for a doctorate until the deadline of 01.12.2020 and has not yet defended her/his doctorate. All eligible voters will receive their individual access to the secret election via e-mail.

Presentation of the 10 nominated candidates:

Doctoral candidates can apply for funding for (online) research stays abroad and participation in (online) conferences and exhibitions abroad until 01.04.2021. Due to the ongoing global pandemic, the funding requirements have been adjusted accordingly.

Doctoral candidates can apply to the BRS for a funding for translation or proofreading services for planned, non-native language publications until 01.04.2021

Funding for publications in open access journals can be applied for via the University Library. 

KREATIVFONDS: Current call for applications
Applications for artistic and creative projects can be submitted to the Department of Research until 15 March 2021. The call for proposals is limited to the funding line "Projects" and applications up to 700 euros in the funding line "Young Artists".

Doctoral candidates can apply to the International Office again in 2021 for ERASMUS+ funding for a language course abroad. The course must be sourced and selected by the interested parties themselves.

In the next few weeks, there will be a new call for female postdocs as part of the Thuringian Programme for Early Stage Researchers and Artists. The second phase of the programme will run from 2021 to 2025 - more about this shortly via our emails, website and the university message board.

The year 2020 has demanded a lot from us: But instead of forgetting these strange but also new experiences as quickly as possible, we should rather share them so that we can at least laugh together about the little things in the new everyday life of research in these times. So set the scene for the Online Science Slam | Corona Edition with your experiences in max. 8 minutes and share them with us! 

Registration deadline: February 22nd
Deadline for submitting presentations: March 11th

FULBRIGHT GERMANY: Research Fellowships in the USA
German doctoral candidates from all disciplines can apply to Fulbright Germany by 01.04.2021 for a four to six-month research fellowship at a university in the USA starting on 01.11.2021.

DAAD: Research Grants for Doctoral Candidates
The DAAD supports doctoral candidates with one to twelve-month scholarships for research stays abroad. For stays from August 2021 onwards, the application deadline is 15.03.2021.
