Material and Construction
Construction and building materials have long played a significant role in the technical progress of society. Technological development and innovation depends on building and construction materials with custom-made features. That is why the development and application of energy-efficient, environmentally sustainable building materials represent an important part of this rapidly developing research area. The second main area of research addresses problems of structural mechanics, material mechanics and numerical simulation processes. Our research projects have made considerable progress in recent years thanks to the purchase of major research instrumentation installed at the Finger Institute for Building Material Engineering (FIB) and the testing facility at the Centre for Intelligent Building (CIB).
