Today’s social challenges and far-reaching environmental changes – demographic shift, mobility, globalisation, multiculturalism, scarcity of natural resources – require new concepts for our urban and living space. In the field of “City, Architecture and Environment”, researchers investigate and test new methods, theories and technologies in all of their diverse forms. The research spectrum includes urban research, applied architectural research, theoretical and historical research, environmental, energy, climate and infrastructural research. Research collaborations, research training groups, affiliated institutes and renowned symposiums and conferences form the framework of the university’s predominantly international, interdisciplinary and cross-institutional research activities.
