A look behind the numbers in 2017

The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar flourishes through its experimental environment, familiar atmosphere and especially through the people, who study, research and work here at the university. This is also made possible by the over 270 research and artistic associates and the approximately 170 project employees and about 160 non-academics at the faculties.

230 non-academic employees work in the university administration and services, 15 of whom are apprentices.

205 partner universities, 593 student exchanges*

In general, a stay abroad is recommended between the 3rd and the 5th semester of the Bachelor’s degree programme and during the 3rd semester of the Master’s degree programme. Some faculties have set up a so-called »mobility window« as part of their study regulations. The fact that the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is so focused on internationalisation is reflected in periodic funding rankings of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD): since 2011 the University ranks one out of the first five positions nationwide for funding amounts and individual scholarships based on the number of students in the 5th and 6th semester.
