This project is a research project.
Project description
Smiling is a very important social gesture, which acts as a cue for social interactions, many times leading two or more individuals to interact further with one-another. Smiling also helps reducing stress and relaxes muscles. According to one report, by year 2020 there will be around 28 billion connected smart devices in the world, almost 3 times more than the world population. Having this as a background, the project deals with two main futuristic scenarios, where individuals have more interactions with machines than with humans. In such scenario,
How can we bring back subtle yet vital benefits caused by smiling ?
What if smart devices in future expect some social protocol in order to start functioning ?
Keeping these questions at the core the design aim is to move away from the normal Haptic input modality and use facial gestures as input modality. Main focus is “smile” for operating a device. Making smile as switch to operate machine.
