summaery2020 remote | digital – networked – close

Dear Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Alumni,

from 30 July to 2 August 2020, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, under the auspices of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, invites you to its annual exhibition »summaery2020 remote«. This year's motto picks up on current discourses, positions, works and projects from research and teaching and will be presented under a completely new guise: digital, networked, close. Interested parties are cordially invited to participate in this extraordinary »Experiment Bauhaus«.

Your Alumni Team

Thats how »summaery2020 remote« is going to be

The first digital semester at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar started in early May 2020. Within a very short time, creative solutions for work that can be done from anywhere, »remote work«, were sought, tested, rejected and improved. This is a continuous process that has resulted in numerous projects at the Faculties of Architecture and Urbanism, Civil Engineering, Media, and Art and Design. New formats, new themes, new spaces and new approaches are the result of this challenging time, which can be explored virtually and in the urban space of Weimar as part of the annual exhibition »summaery2020 remote«.

DIGITAL | Everything stays different

The effects of the corona pandemic are being felt worldwide; »keeping our distance« and »social distancing« have changed the way we live together and raised completely new questions for politics, business, science and society. At the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, however, we also see the crisis as an opportunity: the digitalisation of research and teaching is inspiring new forms of interaction, development and creation process, and solidarity between instructors and students.

NETWORKED | We are getting up close and personal...

...and still keep our distance. It is not easy to create closeness via digital formats, but security has been a top priority in the current situation. We are still offering intimate insights though! Celebrate with us live on screen, discover exciting projects on virtual tours, or get in touch with Bauhaus-Universität Weimar students and instructors via online workshop or chats. Browse in peace and quiet, but don't miss any live online events, such as our opening event.

CLOSE | Just one click away

In 2020, instructors and students are bringing the summaery directly to your living room: the central venue is the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar website. Starting on 30 July, you will have access to insights into student projects in the form of multimedia exhibitions, photo and video documentation and online events. In addition, you will be able to visit some of the projects at selected locations in the city of Weimar.
