Project description
The ProTELC Science Camps promote innovation, networking, and interdisciplinary collaboration among students in Thuringia through engagement with current topics in the STEM industry. Participants take part in seminars, team-building activities, excursions, and a hands-on project, giving them the opportunity to interact with professionals from STEM fields. The camps are an initiative of ALLIANZ THÜR ING and are coordinated by the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. As part of the project, seven mobile walls for indoor greening were designed, assembled, equipped with selected plants, and outfitted with technology by seven student teams. The event was organized and hosted by the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt in close cooperation with the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. It took place from March 11 to March 20, 2024, at the FH Erfurt, Faculty of Landscape Architecture, Horticulture & Forestry. The main challenge was to set up the indoor greening system and equip it with microcontrollers and sensors, integrate all components, and automate the lighting and irrigation systems.
