Project description
During the semester, relief prints were created from various materials and using different methods. During a workshop at the Museum of Printing Art in Leipzig, small texts were typeset using lead type. In Weimar, alongside stamp animations and textile prints made with laser-cut printing blocks, numerous multicolored prints were produced using various techniques.
In jigsaw printing (rubber printing block) , the printing block is cut into pieces so that each piece can be inked in a different color. In another technique, multi-block printing (Lino), a separate block is carved for each color. Finally, in the reduction printing method (plywood), the multicolored effect is achieved by alternately carving and printing the same block.
Both formally and thematically, the course was guided by the number three. Enjoy discovering it!
Many thanks to Catalina Giraldo Vélez and Jörg von Stuckrad for their support with the stop-motion animations and the laser work.
