Project description
The starting point for our semester project was the idea that all the workspaces at the Bauhaus University are empty. No furniture, no specifications. This radical freedom was both an invitation and a challenge - how do we want to work, learn and design?
The focus was on developing a customised workplace with additive peripheral products made of sheet metal. The aim was to create an environment that optimally supports project studies in product design and reflects our needs as students.
It was not just about ergonomics or storage space, but also about examining the work culture at our university: How do we organise ourselves? How do spaces promote dialogue and concentration? How much structure do we need - and how much flexibility?
Our designs see themselves as tools for better study. They are not just pieces of furniture, but spatial responses to the requirements, wishes and points of criticism that we collected over the course of the semester. The resulting workplace is a proposal for more productive, healthier and more collaborative working.
