Project description
Picture books – those bedtime things with farms, animals, and policewomen, right?
Well… almost. Picture books as a storytelling medium are becoming increasingly popular among adults as well, often venturing far beyond traditional themes. And why not? They offer plenty of room for graphic storytelling and experimental illustration.
In the course “Picture Book Stories”, 15 students explored the format, developed ideas, experimented, and brought their concepts to life. The resulting stories are funny, thoughtful, playfully childlike, or deeply melancholic. What emerged is a vibrant journey through 15 entirely different visual worlds.
The outcomes – and the creative paths that led to them – are on display in Room 304 of Marienstraße 1.
