Project description

The call for proposals for the annual theme fund ‘BEYOND NOW ⸺ Environments’ states:
"The annual theme 2025 Beyond Now ⸺Environments thus places projects and actors at the
Bauhaus-Universität Weimar at the centre of attention that deal with constellations of living beings and their surrounding material and immaterial environments and their design through research, art and/or teaching. The plural also refers in particular to post-anthropocentric perspectives, parallelisms, intersections and overlaps of environments, which are repeatedly explored

This description has been the subject of controversial debate at the university. The event will shed light on the different perspectives on the term ‘environments’ and thus also highlight the diverse disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar - in order to arrive at a heterogeneous but nevertheless common understanding of the term in the best case scenario. This will also further outline the research field ‘Environments’ as defined in the "STEP 2026-2030".

In addition to panellists (Christian Doeller, Uwe Plank-Wiedenbeck, Hinnerk Utermann, Elena Vogman), all interested parties are invited to attend. Moderation: Ulrike Kuch
