Project description
In the free projects of photography, students have the opportunity to delve into a theme. The focus is set by the students themselves.
In the case of Carolina Amorim de Castro Sampaio, this is a freely associative approach that emphasizes experimentation. Working analogically with digital modifications in the field between portraiture and landscape photography.
Richard Schött has focused on flowing bodies of water for his photo work. Using a drone-guided camera, he pursues his interest in the texture and structure of water. Additionally, the different ambient light affects the color and contrast of the water.
Johannes Heppner has taken up the theme of figures and developed quirky forms using the slit-scan technique (a method in which a scanner captures only parts of an image). The connection between the scanner and a rotational movement of the subjects results in new figures that may also evoke digitally distorted files. However, they are photographs.
Antonia Mang examines societal images with an imprint of the need for security and boundaries in her photographic exploration. One is reminded of the building society motto "My house, my garden, my family." Through the example of two photographs that can be understood as a distillation of a collection of images, she makes a form of pragmatism and impermeability visible.
