Project description

The exhibition presents student research projects carried out at the Chair of Advanced Structures in the field of structural engineering. The projects focus on a diverse range of topics, including the effects of cascading earthquakes on reinforced-concrete structures, the seismic assessment of unreinforced masonry structures subjected to static and dynamic loading, and the evaluation of masonry buildings through benchmark studies, numerical modelling, and small-scale shaking-table testing. The complementary approaches are used to assess structural response, displacement behaviour, damage progression, crack development, and failure mechanisms under extreme loading conditions. The projects were conducted as part of Special Projects as well as the elective course »Structural Performance Assessment under Extreme Loading Conditions.«
